Our nurses and Long Term Care Aides become a vital part of our client's healthcare team. Through home support services, our Long Term Care Aides will monitor the on-going status of our client's health, under the supervision of our Registered Nurses.

Detailed descriptions of RN Services on private pay basis:

Wound and dressing care - a nurse will check and/or change dressing, and apply topical medication as required.

IV Therapy - RN will provide at home therapy including PICC lines. Nurses also work with hospital discharge care planners when beds are short to use their GEM STAR IV pumps. (top)

Mobile Blood Draws - RN's will collect blood for clients unable to get to a lab to have their blood drawn, then deliver the blood to the lab.

Specimen Collections - RN's will collect specimens for drug and alcohol testing, hair analysis, DNA paternity testing.

Paramedicals - RN's collect blood and urine samples for insurance medicals.

Palliative Care - RN's provide end-of-life care in the familiar surroundings of your home, working closely with the medical staff to ensure all medications are monitored accurately. This service can include respite care provided by Long Term Care Aides who have recieved specialized training in the care of the palliative client. (top)

Field Supervision - All care aides providing services in the community are under the direct supervision of an RN, whose goal is to ensure the service is of maximum benefit to you, and to maintain 100% client satisfaction.

Specific Task Training - training is provided to care aides and/or family members on specific tasks, for example the application of ear or eye drops, nitro patches, TED stockings, topical medication, etc. Special tasks also include pericare, colostomy and cathetor care, digital stimulation and transport using a variety of lift and transfer devices. Foot Care - Using special instruments, an RN will cut toenails, remove corns and callouses, and provide treatment of fungal toenails - ideal for patients who have undergone hip replacement operations, or who are unable to reach their feet due to other physical disabilities.

Blood Pressure Monitoring - RN will come to your home to monitor and record your vital signs, to provide your physician with access to this information.

Assessments for Care Plans - RN's will assist you in determining the best, most efficient care plan, based on your needs and your budget. (top)

Risk Management - RN's will inspect your environment and identify areas that pose a risk to your safety and the safety of the Long Term Care Aide who will provide home support services. We specialize in providing a safe environment for the elderly.

Liason - RN will liase between you and/or a family member, and the medical practitioners involved in your care, for medication management, and to monitor and coordinate medical appointments, pick up and delivery of medications, etc. (top)

In/After Hospital Care - post-operative healthcare is provided by an RN where there are tasks involved that are not delegable to a Long Term Care Aide, e.g., wound care and dressing changes, medication management, IV therapy, etc. RN's are able to coordinate care information with your health care team, whether local or otherwise.
